Dengue Rally organized by South Baridhara Youth Club
The South Baridhara Youth Club successfully organized a Dengue Awareness Rally on Friday, October 4, 2024, aiming to raise awareness about the dangers of dengue and promote preventive measures within the community. The rally, held right after Jumma prayers, began at the Siraj Mia Memorial Model School field and saw active participation from residents, youth, and volunteers, reflecting the collective spirit of the neighborhood.
Purpose of the Rally:
With the increasing spread of dengue across Dhaka, the rally focused on:
Identifying and eliminating mosquito breeding sites.
Encouraging proper disposal of stagnant water.
Promoting the use of mosquito repellents and protective clothing.
Inspiring residents to maintain a cleaner and healthier environment.
Rally Highlights:
1. Community Participation
More than 300 residents, including students, parents, and youth members, enthusiastically participated in the rally, showcasing solidarity against the dengue threat.
2. Distribution of Awareness Leaflets
Volunteers handed out informational leaflets to people coming out of the mosque, offering essential tips on preventing mosquito bites and recognizing dengue symptoms.
3. Monitoring and Reporting Unsafe Areas
Teams were formed to survey the area, identifying **stagnant water bodies** and **potential breeding sites**. The findings will be reported to the South Baridhara Society for further action.
4. Public Address and Motivation
Representatives from the Youth Club urged residents to take personal and collective responsibility for keeping the neighborhood mosquito-free, emphasizing the value of teamwork and vigilance.
